This review mentions how the film was only $11,000 to make and brings up the idea that "Paranormal Activity" was not the first film of its' kind, it reminds us that films such as "The Blair Witch Project" have a documentary style to them which makes the movie seem as if it happened in real life and happens to be what makes it so scary. Another thing mentioned in this website is that "Paranormal Activity" has the kind of horror that is intense, but won't scare you too much when you think back to it which adds to its' appeal.
